  Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

  The 16th Century Portuguese Forts of Jalali and Mirani

  Museum of Bait Al Zubair

1:30PM  Lunch at local restaurant

2:30PM  Visit Mutrah market

  Free evening

  Overnight - Muscat


TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2013 – breakfast – lunch – dinner

7:00AM  Breakfast at hotel and check out

8:00AM  Depart to Nizwa

  En route, stop at the pleasant oasis at the foot of Jebel Akhdar Birkat Al Mauz.

  Visit the big round fort of the Yarubas Dynasty at Nizwa


1:30PM  Lunch at local restaurant

2:30PM  Visit Falaj Daris (a World Heritage site) the largest Falaj in Oman that provides the surrounding countryside with the needed water for plantations.

  A photo stop at the picturesque village of Al Hamra.

            Visit the museum of Bait Al Safa

6:00PM  Check in at hotel

7:30PM  Dinner at hotel

  Overnight - Nizwa


WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2013 -  breakfast – lunch

7:3AM  Breakfast at hotel

8:3AM  Visit Al Hoota Cave, estimated to be over 2 million years old.

Continue driving to Bahla, the oldest recorded region of civilization in Oman.  See Bahla Fort from outside (under restoration).

1:30PM  Lunch at a local restaurant in Bahla

2:30PM  Visit Jabrin Fort, built in the 17th century.

  Wander around the ruins of Tanuf.

  Back to Nizwa

            Overnight - Nizwa


THURSDAY, OCOTBER 17, 2013 – breakfast – lunch – dinner

7:30AM  Breakfast at hotel and check out

8:30AM  Depart to Sinaw to experience the souk before heading to the village of Mudairib to see its traditional watchtowers.

  Explore the ruins of AL Munisifeh

1:00PM  Lunch at a local restaurant

2:00PM  Head to the Golden Sand Dunes of Wahiba by 4WD

  Dinner and overnight camping at 1000 Nights Camp


FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2013 – breakfast – picnic lunch

7:00AM  Breakfast at the camp and check out

8:00AM  Depart to Sur, the Old East African Port passing through Ayjah Village, a typical Omani village. 

  Visit a Dhow factory

            Continue to the ancient city of Qalhat

  One hour hiking through one of Oman’s scenic wadis, Wadi Shab.  Visit Bimah Sinkhole, a

  natural hole in the Earth's surface caused by karst process.
